Case study for full garden design & construction in Hurworth, Darlington.

The Site; A narrow back garden for a terraced cottage, the garden is north facing & gets narrower along one side.

The Specifications; Cottage style with small patio/seating areas & paths, timber garden building to be used as shed/workshop. Paving to be suitable for a north facing plot with restricted sunlight, especially in winter. Natural materials with cottage style planting scheme.

Initial sketches drawn up, with 4 different options.

Design chosen & developed into Master Plan.

Preparation work begins.

Willow fencing erected & framework constructed for timber garden building.

Shuttering & sub-base completed for patios & paths, ‘shed’ completed.

New turf & Limestone paving installed.

Lime render finish & reclaimed copings for wall. Stone gabion seating installed.

Planting & ‘dressing’ completed.
